India and US Issue ‘Joint Challenge’ Coin

India and the United States of America have issued a ‘Joint Challenge’ coin symbolising the unique partnership shared by the two countries. India and US had partnered up to create a next-generation naval aircraft carrier for the Indian Navy.The obverse of the coin reads ‘Chale Chale Saath Saath’ in Hindi and ‘Forward Together We Go’ in English which was a vision statement issued by the leaders, Barack Obama and Narendra Modi, at their first meeting at the White House in September 2014. The reverse is gold in colour and depicts the flags of India and US with an aircraft carrier floating on blue water between them.
The coin was created at the White House meeting in the US to symbolise the partnership between the two countries, and was released in September 2015.
